Public Consultation on CIC BIM Specifications (by CIC)

To facilitate construction industry in Hong Kong to adopt and implement BIM, Construction Industry Council (CIC) has formed a Task Force on BIM Specifications and Agreement for the development of sample BIM specifications, requirements and contractual materials. Under the Task Force on BIM Specifications and Agreement, the Task Group on BIM Specifications has developed the first draft of the CIC BIM Specifications.

To ensure the developed CIC BIM Specifications could meet the industry needs, this webinar aims to introduce the first draft and collect feedbacks.

To ensure the developed CIC BIM Specifications could meet the industry needs, your comments and views would be valuable to the industry development. The period for comment is valid until 27 May 2020. You may feel free to give your comments to the Construction Industry Council by:

Application fee

From 1 January 2020, application policy would be started as follows: -
1) Application fee $100 (non-refundable) would be charged (for Professional & Associate Grade); Free (for Student Grade).
2) Application period would be limited to 6 months since the first notice from the Institute to the applicant.
3) If your application is received by the Institute without correct application fee & reference document attached within the captioned 6 months, your application will be returned to you without processing.

Hong Kong Institute of Civil and Building Information Management (HKICBIM) is a newly formed institute which provides an informative platform for civil and building counterparts to network and exchange civil Building Information Modeling (BIM) knowledge. HKICBIM aims to foster technological innovation and accelerate the adoption of Civil and Building Information Modeling Management in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry.

The Articles and By-Laws set out the HKICBIM objectives of establishment, grades of membership, structure and management, professional conduct, and other rules relevant to conduct the affairs of HKICBIM. In addition, the By-Laws may be revised and supplemented periodically as and when necessary.
